All of this bound up into a lifestyle-friendly 43 inches and priced at a wallet-friendly £429. The price make it into our list as one of the best 4K TVs.
furthermore, the performance is superb. A more premium (and therefore it is bigger) TV will go even brighter more than this. Still, the RU7470 is punchy in its title and takes away more sophisticated and subtle approach to colours and definition than you would possibly expect. All told, it is a lovely TV to observe and to measure with.
It’s worth noting that UE43RU7470 may be a Curry’s exclusive, but that Samsung says its performance is just like that of the UE43RU7400 and UE43RU7410, with the only differences between the three models being aesthetics. Having not tested all variants we will not vouch for that, but there’s little reason to doubt Samsung’s claim.
3. Samsung QE65Q90R QLED TV
Only the absolute best will do for Samsung. Because, despite its 2018 4K flagship being as one of the best 4K TVs, it had ever produced, with a performance way beyond that of the other backlit set, Samsung fixated on the few flaws that prevented it from winning a What Hi-Fi? Award. Undoubtedly, the new Q90R QLED is equally the belter that the Q9FN was, but with practically all of its flaws fixed.
The Q90 may be a backlit TV that goes almost as black as an OLED and has OLED-like viewing angles while retaining its benefits of more exceptional brightness. It is producing brilliantly judged colours and excellent dark detail, to not mention a superb OS full of apps, including Apple TV.
Better than OLED? For those that favour punch and need the absolute best OS within the business, it’d just be.
4. Sony KD-49XG9005 4K Ultra HD TV
If you are looking for a high-end TV at a smaller size than 55in, the Sony KD-49XG9005 should be at the highest of your list. It doesn’t get all feature of its bigger XG9505 siblings (hence the slight difference within the model number), but it does get most and delivers a superb picture for its size and price. A worthy What Hi-Fi? Award-winner.
Brilliantly balanced, natural colours, many detail and super-sharp edges combine to deliver an image that’s both authentic and enticing, not to mention consistent across all sources. And it requires almost no tweaking to urge the TV working at its best.
The Android TV OS, while still a touch behind the Samsung and LG alternatives, is steadily improving and boasts all of the apps you’re likely to wish. Sony has also added YouView to make sure all of the standard UK catch-up services are on board.
5. LG OLED65B9PLA 4K Ultra HD TV
The LG B9 may be a mixture of the old and therefore the new – it combines the company’s 2018 processor with its 2019 OLED panel. It makes it the first affordable model in LG’s current OLED range and a tempting proposition.
The picture is natural, colourful and well-measured for brightness and contrasts whether you’re watching in 4K or upscaling from HD. Whatever processor power is missing won’t destroy your TV experience.
There are small issues in light and dark detail that the highest LG processor offers, and it’s worth paying the additional for them if you’ll. As far as this price proposition is a concern, though, the LG OLED65B9PLA gets our full vote of confidence.
6. Panasonic TX-58GX800B Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
Looking to travel big for relatively little money? Then you merely need to inspect the TX-58GX800B. The 50-inch version of this TV is already good value, except for just a touch extra cash you’ll add 8in of the screen, turning an enticing viewing experience into something indeed cinematic.
Not that the size and price are the only essential things that this Panasonic has going for it. It also has both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, an OS that appears a touch basic but is extremely simple to use and contains all of the vital apps, and a performance that’s effortlessly natural and detailed.
It make into our list as one of the best 4K TVs , because the viewing angles aren’t surprising, and you got to add a soundbar to urge an audio performance deserve the image, except for the cash, this is often an absolute better.
7. Samsung UE49RU8000 Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV

8. Panasonic TX-55GZ950B Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
To lay hands on this: the Panasonic GZ950 OLED isn’t quite nearly as good because of the LG C9 (or. Therefore, Panasonic’s GZ2000) in terms of picture quality. It’s just that tiny bit less punchy and eye-popping.
That said, it’s a good bit cheaper than the C9, it supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and it sounds significantly better.
In its title, it also produces an excellent picture, with brilliantly natural colours and perfectly deep blacks, plus an accomplished resolution. In other words, this is often an excellent option when choosing your next TV. Panasonic GZ950 OLED is one of the best 4K TVs.
9. Samsung QE49Q70R
A 49-inch premium TV is some things of a rarity. OLEDs don’t currently go below 55 inches, and neither does Samsung’s flagship Q90R (or the Q85R and Q80R, for that matter).
Q70R series, though, Samsung has opened the opportunities and is offering a 49in version (as well as many bigger sizes, including a superb 65-inch model). In other words, this is often the simplest (or, at least, most advanced) or best 4K TVs that Samsung will sell you if you cannot squeeze during a 55incher. That alone makes it a tasty proposition.
Thankfully, this is often quite just an excellent on-paper proposition. Punchy and vibrant QLED colours, high specifications and sharpness, and a superb OS bursting with apps (including Apple TV) make this an excellent option if 49in is as big as you’re willing or ready to go.
10. Panasonic TX-50GX800B
The GX800 range is one among the primary we checked the supports for both of the two competing dynamic metadata-based HDR formats, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and this 50 inch TV set comes at a package price. Panasonic (and other brands products) claim that HDR formats with dynamic metadata are literally of more use to lower-end sets than flagship models, as they tailor the image to the precise capabilities of the set. It is a compelling argument, and while this TV can’t match the premium TVs, this is often an undeniably great budget TV for the cash.
Amazon and Netflix are here, altogether their HDR 4K glory, also as an entire host of the standard catch-up streaming TV apps, but no sign of Now TV, DirecTV or Spotify or Slingtv. There are enough HDMI and USB ports, plus optical and headphone outputs. The image produced is natural, clean and free from motion judder. Black levels are pretty good, though they’re disappointed by poor viewing angles, the image losing brightness off-edges.
Yet, despite usual lightweight sound from a flat TV (even with ‘Atmos’ mode onboard) we still think the performance here is sweet enough to form it an excellent deal at this price. An easy but effective 50 inch among other Best 4K TVs.
11. LG OLED55E9PLA Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
Our advice when reviewing televisions tends to shop for a flatscreen then add a soundbar, but this LG proves one among the exceptions to that rule. It produces just the type of picture we’d hope for and supplements it with a good sound quality system.
This E9 has more speakers functionality than its C9 sibling products (4.2ch compared with 2.2ch), more amplifier power (60W over 40W) and slightly different positioning (forward-firing vs down-firing). You’d got to spend upwards of £500 on a soundbar that might improve the audio significantly.
12. Sony KD-65XG9505 Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
Just below Sony’s Master Series is that this 4K LCD cracker. What this TV offers may be a very watchable and forgiving picture with wonderfully balanced colours, superb detail and easily the simplest motion processing tech around at the instant. It produces smooth and sharp and without either flicker or any of the ‘soap opera effect’.
It’s exceptionally bright and vibrant for the worth. It’s going not to have the black levels, viewing angles or extreme contrast abilities of the much more expensive Samsung QLEDs and LG OLEDs. Still, you merely won’t find such a beautifully performing TV without paying much, much more. Full marks.
13. Sony KD-85ZG9 Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
There aren’t many 8K TVs around just, and that is a minimum of partly because there’s currently no 8K content to watch. Despite that, what Sony has produced with the ZG9 refer to a bright future.
The extra resolution comes at a little-to-no cost in performance compared to the 4K members of the Sony family. The image is stunning, balanced, and therefore the sound quality is really up there too. Of course, £14k may be a lot to buy an entire load of resolution that can’t currently be utilised, except for some being before the curve is a component of the enjoyment.
If you’re exceptionally wealthy, the ZG9 is that the telly to buy. Now would you wish the 85-inch model or the 98-inches?
15. Sony KD-65XF9005 Big-Screen 4K Ultra HD TV
It is often hard to get excited around mid-range TVs. But there are rare occasions once they present something rather special – a television that mixes a number of the simplest features of the top-end with a price that’s affordable to more people.
That’s what we have got on our hands here. The XF9005 is that the 2018 predecessor to the XG9505 and it is, remarkably, still available to shop for. Between its massive discounting and impressive picture quality, it remains a frustrating cost.
It may not be a gong and whistles OLED, but this Sony LCD TV set may be a great all-round option. And the appearance at that price for a 65-inch screen.
